    Drunks on road, motorists warned
    New Orleans Sun
    Tuesday 9th March, 2010
    (IANS)

Signs warning drivers of drunks on road have been put up in a Romanian town in a bid to reduce accident figures, a media report said Tuesday.

'Attention - Drunks' read the notices, with an image of a reveller on his knees, holding a bottle, the Daily Express reported.

Mayor Petru Antal said drivers were at risk of running over residents who get drunk.

'We are a border town and have lots of cars thundering through here all the time. But we also have a very vibrant nightlife and the two don't mix.

'We have to target the drivers because by the time the pedestrians get into this state they are beyond caring,' the mayor said.
